The tour starts at a scheduled time and location in Fátima. If you’re not in Fátima you can request a transfer from our team. In this day tour, we will visit Coimbra, the medieval capital of Portugal and the headquarters of the largest university in the country for the last five centuries. We are going to visit the great and extraordinary University of Coimbra, founded in 1290 in the reign of D.Dinis I that is composed of 3 poles, 8 faculties, and 18 museums. You will definitely appreciate the enormity of the Joanina Library and the Chapel of St. the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Nova, a monastic ensemble begun in 1649, that is a great work of the Baroque style. We’ll then travel to Aveiro, also known as “Venice of Portugal”, is one of the most beautiful cities in the Iberian Peninsula. We’ll begin by visiting the Cathedral of Aveiro, then following to the Monastery of Jesus. Afterward, we will take a boat trip “Costa Nova Beach”, which will introduce us to the surroundings of the Ria de Aveiro and its amazing ecosystem, traditions, and culture.
