The tour will start in the beautiful and vibrant capital of Portugal, Lisbon. Our first stop will be the iconic Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site that once guarded the entrance to the city’s harbor. Next, we’ll visit the Monument of the Discoveries, which celebrates the Portuguese Age of Exploration. We’ll also marvel at the grandeur of the Jerónimos Monastery. known for its stunning Manueline architecture and historical significance. As we continue our tour, we’ll pass through the bustling Marquês de Pombal Square. We’ll finish our day with a trip to Fátima.
The second day will be marked with a visit to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the serene and spiritual atmosphere of this sacred place. We will also take you to the historical houses of the three little shepherds in nearby Aljustrel, where they lived and witnessed the apparitions of Our Lady. Afterward, we’ll head to the Mira d’Aire Caves, the largest cave system in Portugal.
On the third day, we will travel to the Monasteries of Batalha and Alcobaça, two magnificent examples of medieval architecture that played significant roles in Portugal’s history. The Monastery of Batalha was built to commemorate the Portuguese victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota against Spain. The Monastery of Alcobaça is known for its stunning Cistercian architecture and the tombs of King Pedro I and Inês de Castro, whose tragic love story is legendary in Portuguese history. We will finish our day with a trip to Nazaré, a picturesque coastal town famous for its giant waves. Here, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring power of the Atlantic Ocean and enjoy the breathtaking views that will give you the most satisfying goosebumps.
