Description
The tour starts in one of the most beautiful and famous cities in Europe, Porto. This is the perfect place to take a walking tour of the city and enjoy the Luis I Bridge and the Douro River both create this extremely charming landscape.
On the second day, we’ll visit the “origin cities” of Portugal, where we’ll encounter the great Bom Jesus Sanctuary in Braga and the Guimarães Castle – a very important location – the reason being that this was the place where D. Afonso Henriques, the 1st King of Portugal, established the administrative center of the Portucalense County!
On the next day, we’ll travel to Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal” and we’re also going to visit the Student City of Coimbra, where the oldest University of Portugal remains a hub for the highest-educated scholars.
Finally, we finish our tour in Fátima, one of the most important places in the Catholic world, where you’ll have the chance to experience the beautiful energy of this city and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima. We will further visit the homes of the three little shepherds in Aljustrel, a nearby village where they also witnessed some of the apparitions of Our Lady Mary, and the Angel of Peace.
